Droplets
A photo essay.
It’s not that I hadn’t noticed water droplets before last winter. I’ve taken enough dewy morning walkabouts in my life to have plenty of instances cataloged. But it was a trip to the redwoods last year, ironically, that caused me to fall in love with the capturing of diminutive droplets.
My partner and I were walking through the Grove of the Titans on the sort of brisk, sunny winter morning that caused a steam to rise from the forest floor that matched our breath. We passed by a nurse log, and she noticed a series of droplet-covered webs that were right at eye level, right as a sunbeam chose to highlight them. The first photo in this series documents that scene, and the moment when a new obsession was born.

Wow, the talent that you possess is mind blowing. These pictures are absolutely breathtaking.
Beautiful, Adam. You've captured a wonderful collection here! I especially loved to come upon the paddling picture among all the leaves, flowers and spider webs. A fun surprise!
